Abstract:
Anisotropic lateral interactions between particles on a rectangular lattice are shown to result in anisotropy in the coverage dependence of the chemical diffusion coefficient. As an example, diffusion of Au and Pt atoms on the (110) surface of these metals is analyzed in detail.
