Abstract:
Comparison of experimental data from thermodesorption, infrared spectroscopy, and the catalytic oxidation of propylene over copper-magnesium oxide catalysts suggests that there are two absorbed species on the catalyst surface: 1) a strongly adsorbed form which proceeds to carbon dioxide and water and 2) a weakly adsorbed form which is converted to acrolein.
