Abstract:
The CuO-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared by treatment of the support by NH4OH solution of CuCO3 and a subsequent IR-light drying at 120° and 4 h baking at 400°. The catalytic activity was tested on H oxidation. The catalysts prepared on γ- and
δ-Al2O3 were more active than those prepared on α-Al2O3. The distribution of CuO in the catalyst granules, chemisorption of CuO, and CuO-Al2O3 solid solution formation were detected.
