Abstract:
Depending on the nature of metal oxides the adsorption of Me2S on Si, Al, Cr, Mo, Mn, and V oxides at 20-450° leads to the formation of various adsorbed species. The IR spectra of the adsorbed systems are given. The Me2S and Me2SO adsorption proceeds as the mol. adsorption or as a chemisorption which involves the oxidation of the adsorbed MeS and Me2SO mol. fragments. At higher temperatures all the adsorbed species oxidize to adsorbed MeSO3- or SO42-.
