Abstract:
A pure CuO has 4 times higher catalytic activity (per each Cu2+) in H oxidation than a CuY zeolite containing a low Cu2+ concentration. The Cu(II) sulfate, phosphate, and chloride salts have catalytic activity comparable to that of the CuY containing 3-9 wt.% Cu. The catalytic activity reflects the strength of the Cu-O bonds in these catalysts.
