Abstract:
Spectra of samples at enhanced temps. are distorted by the heat emission of the sample, which cannot be completely eliminated. The spectrometer UR 10 with the chopper placed before the sample and with a modification of the optical scheme, developed recently (Tarasevich, Yu. S.; and Shchekochikhin, Yu. M, 1973) enables recording spectra which are not affected by the own sample heat emission. Several examples are presented proving that spectra of surface structures scanned at room temp. after subjecting the sample to heating are not equiv. to those obtained immediately at the temp. of reaction and can sometimes essentially mislead the interpretation.
