Abstract:
Phase and chemical composition of the Ni on silica gel catalyst reveal that the catalyst is able to retain a high concentration of Na, the presence of which causes a decreased catalytic activity. The catalyst (contg. 20-52 wt.% Ni) was prepared by deposition of basic Ni carbonate on xerogel SiO2 of 55-300 m2/g surface area. The effects of reduction and thermal treatment on the surface area of Ni (Ni-particle size) in the catalyst were detected.
