Abstract:
A title catalyst (prepared from Fe2O3, Cr2O3, K2CO3, and K2SiO3, after several hr of use (with unspecified olefins) contained magnetite (Fe3O4), a solid solution of Fe3+ in a chromite lattice (Fe2+Cr2-xO4), and KHCO3, as shown by IR and X-ray analysis After long use (and reduction), or several use-regeneration cycles, the catalyst contained a solid solution of Cr3+ in a magnetite lattice [Fe3+[Fe2+CrxFe3+1-x]O4] and KHCO3. The phase transformations on heating and cooling were reversible, as shown by thermogravimetric analysis
