Abstract:
The effect of low-oxidation state W on the properties of Ni in a (W + Ni)/SiO2 catalyst prepared by a treatment of SiO2 with W (π-C4H7)4 [tetrakis(π-methallyl)tungsten] with a subsequent reduction in H2 at 600°, then a treatment with Ni(π-C3H5)2 followed by reduction with H at 400-600°, was studied. In contrast to the catalyst Ni/SiO2, the addition of W stabilized the dispersion and increased the electron density of Ni. The change of electronic properties of Ni in the presence of W was accompanied by a decrease of catalytic activity in hydrogenolysis of C2H6.
