Abstract:
The dimensions of Ir particles on Al2O3 were studied by x-ray and chemisorption methods. Samples containing <15 wt. % Ir on Al2O3 have higher H chemisorption capacity due to addition H adsorption on the carrier at defect structures formed by loss of Ir particles. X-ray studies show that the catalyst has spinel structures enclosing Ir ions.
