Abstract:
The induction of negative charge in a ZnO film causes oxygen adsorption on an oxidized surface apparently in the form of O2−. Electroadsorbed oxygen forms CO adsorption centers. On coadsorption from a 2CO+O2 mixture, equal quantities of CO and O2 are adsorbed with the formation of CO3− complexes decomposing above 400 °C with CO2 liberation into the gas phase.
