Abstract:
The problem of the multiplicity of stationary states (mss) is one of the most urgent problems in nonlinear chemical kinetics. It is important here to single out the region of several stationary states (to construct bifurcation curves). For heterogeneous catalytic reactions the traditional subjects of investigation are exhaustive oxidation reactions over platinum and, primarily, the oxidation of carbon monoxide, for which there are a large amount of experimental data indicating complex dynamic behavior [1, 2]. Earlier [3] a numerical method for determining the boundaries of the mss was used for a kinetic model of the
oxidation of carbon monoxide over platinum. The aim of the present work was to give analytical expressions for the boundaries of this region.
