Abstract: Thermal conductive catalyst plates (TCP) for compact WGSR reactors were prepared and studied. High thermal conductivity of 2.5–5 W (m K)−1 can be achieved, while the effective catalytic activity of TCP is even higher than that of the commercial size catalyst grains. TCP can be efficiently used for temperature sensitive exothermic reactions in compact apparatuses with controlled temperature profile. Using the TCP reactor WGSR of the fuel gas containing 12% of CO down to 1% of residual CO can be performed in one stage at GSHV of above 6000 h-−1. The TCP shape and the way of arrangement are important for the reactor performance and should be in the focus of our future studies.
