Abstract: Rhodium(III) complex formation with phosphoric acid in strong acidic solutions has been studied by 103Rh, 17O, and 31P NMR. Phosphoric acid is mainly coordinated to rhodium as a monodentate terminal HPO 4 2− ion, while the coordinated phosphate ion accounts for no more than 7%.
