Abstract:
The article presents some problems encountered in the capillary condensation process using an idealized bidesperse pellet as model for the catalytic process. The influence of capillary condensation on performance of kerosene HDA process was emphasized. A mathematical model was presented using the experiment in the paper together with literature kinetic data. These fractions with various boiling temperatures from which the capillary condensation is calculated, was approximated from the feedstock. Results suggest that total aromatic conversion is considerably lower in capillary condensation. The decrease of the reaction rate in liquid-filled pores caused the mono-aromatic to remain unconverted.
