Abstract:
In a calorimeter for measuring heats of adsorption of gases, the secondary heat effects which occur in the calorimeter at elevated temperatures, and are superimposed on the measured adsorptional heat effect, were analyzed. Careful equilization of the parameters of the measuring and comparator calometric cells permits the influence of these effects to be reduced. The overall error of the calometric apparatus, allowing for the error in the measurement of the amount of adsorbed gas, does not exceed 4 to 5%.
