Abstract:
Part 2 describes the ratio of steady- state and transient diffusion coefficients. These were determined experimentally, by the counter-diffusion and ''delay- time'' methods, respectively, for several compressed and extruded catalysts having different types of porous structure. The ratio of these coefficients is found to be equal to εo/J, where εo is the total porosity and J is the fraction of transport pores in the total pore volume. The gases used were argon and hydrogen, and the catalysts were silica gel, iron- molybdenum, vanadium, calcium phosphate, Al2O3, activated charcoal, and iron- chromium types.
