Abstract:
Part I relates to phase composition of catalysts. Studies of vanadium- chromium oxide catalysts, thermography, EPR, and electrical conductivity, showed the presence of a number of phases in the system - a solid solution at low Cr2O3 concentrations, a chemical compound at the component ratio 1 to 1, and a phase of free Cr2O3 at high chromic oxide concentrations. At low chromic oxide concentrations, formation of a solid solution gives rise to the V(4 plus) ion, which increases the conductivity of the system. All samples investigated were n- type semiconductors, except pure Cr2O3 which was a p-type semiconductor.
