Abstract:
Direct radiation-heating of the catalyst is shown to be able to enhance the rate of hydrogen prodn. from methane. Several common features of the occurrence of endothermic reactions under direct irradn. of catalysts are found regardless the reaction, catalyst of radiation nature. Valuable chem. byproducts such as acetylene and filament carbon are formed in the course of catalytic methane conversion.
