A catalytic heater was designed for external heat-engine applications. The heater is attached to the heat engine such as to maximise the heat transferred to its working fluid. The high heat fluxes that be attained are highly beneficial for the
performance of external combustion engines. Tests reveal low emission levels, and a favorable ability to easily vary the
output thermal power and temperature.
