Well crystallized delafossite CuMO2 could be prepared by solid state reaction at temperatures exceeding 1000oC. However, the literature describes methods for obtaining at low temperatures, for example, synthesis using aluminum nitrate or hydrothermal synthesis. We tried this methods and thermal treatment of joint co-precipitated oxyhydroxides in this research. So, preparation of copper oxide compounds with delafossite structure is possible even at rather low temperatures. Dispersion suitable for the catalytic applications can be achieved. However, further research is needed to improve the phase purity of the samples.
