Abstract:
In this paper the preparation and characterization of hydrophobic zeolite layers with enhanced heat and mass transfer properties are presented. In particular, the method of pore forming additives is used to modify the porous structure and transport properties of the zeolite layers. The measurement of the equilibrium curves performed by a thermogravimetric method showed that the preparation procedure and the use of pore forming additives do not influence significantly the sorption properties of the pure zeolite. Furthermore, a theoretical simulation of the dynamic behavior of the zeolite consolidated layer was carried out, in order to show the influence of the main heat and mass parameters on the power output of the air conditioning machine.
