Abstract:
A relation was found between the crystallo-chemical properties of Pt-Sn and Pt-Zn alloys supported on ZnAl2O4 spinel and catalytic activities in dehydrogenation of lower paraffins. In the presence of additives, the catalytic activity and selectivity increase during formation of alloys with f.c.c. structure and with ≤25 at.% content of the second element. When alloys with a higher content of inactive element and with a crystalline structure other than that of Pt are formed, the catalysts are deactivated. The factors which determine the formation of alloys of different chemical and phase compositions were determined.
