Abstract:
The math. simulation of the radial temperature inhomogeneities in the reverse type reactor were made by using of 2-dimensional heterogeneous model. Small heat losses and increases of bed's void fraction near the wall have a sufficient influence upon the reactor behavior and process parameters when dilute gases having a low adiabatic temperature rise are treated. The possibility of formation of a low temperature peripheral zone and its movement towards the reactor center is shown. At high adiabatic temperature rises, the cyclings with great temperature and concentration radial gradients can be formed due to the small nonuniformity of void fraction near the wall. One of the method of compensation of the inhomogeneities influence is th increase of catalyst bed volume.
