Abstract:
Based on the contemporary notion of the nanosized world and on the methodology of its exploration, we consider a particle of finely dispersed nickel as a multifunctional nanosized structure capable of governing nanotechnologies. These nanotechnologies include the synthesis of nanosized carbon products (filaments, fibers, etc.) by the catalytic decomposition of hydrocarbons via the carbide cycle mechanism, arene hydrogenation processes, the highly selective hydrogenation of acetylene in ethylene, and that of butadiene in butylene.
