Abstract:
The EPR spectra of Mo 5+ and Ti 3+ ions in titanium-molybdenum and titanium-antimony oxide catalysts have been studied. For the low-temperature specimens it has been shown that it is possible to stabilize these ions in the interstitial positions of TiO2 (rutile) for which two "yl" bonds are formed. Increase in the temperature of heating leads to the stabilization of these ions in the site positions. The data obtained show good agreement with available data on the EPR spectra of d I ions in the rutile structure. The conditions of stabilization of the interstitial ions have been analyzed. An important feature is that for reduced catalytic systems, an intermediate state corresponding to one "yl" bond is formed.
