Abstract: By using EPR and IR spectroscopy methods it was found that Cu(Salald)2 exists in slightly polar solvents in the form of two isomers, which are possibly cis--trans isomers with a close to planar structure. The adduct formation of Cu(Salald) 2 with weak bases practically does not influence its isomeric composition, while the addition of strong bases leads to a preferential stabilization of one of the isomers, probably the trans-isomer.
