Abstract:
Gas-phase chlorination of methane in the presence of glass fibrous catalysts was studied. It was shown that an increase in the acidity of glass fibres leads to an increase in the selectivity of the formation of methyl chloride. Unlike for zeolite catalysts, glass fibrous catalysts possess stability and do not get deactivated during tens hours.
