Abstract:
A computer model based on the Monte Carlo technique for bimolecular dissociative adsorption on a rough surface with dynamically changing morphology is investigated. The model takes into account the mutual influence of adsorbed particles and substrate atoms. The common regularities of dissociative adsorption on the rough mobile surface in comparison with the Langmuir isotherm are revealed. Particularly, at low temperatures and when the attraction between adsorbate and substrate is strong, metastable states with long lifetimes arise, in contrast to the case of monomolecular adsorption.
