Abstract:
Regularities of NOx catalytic reduction to N2 by various C materials were studied. Compounds of alkali-earth and some transition metals were efficient catalysts for the process. They decreased the temperature of NOx interaction with C by ∼200 K. Reaction rate depends on the type of C material used. Mechanochemical activation of C materials increases the rate of their oxidation by NO and decreases the C oxidation temperature. Small amounts of O added (up to η 2-3 vol.%) caused a non-additive growth of the rate of catalytic C oxidation by NO and did not affect the rate of C catalytic oxidation by N2O.
