Abstract: The effect of high-temperature (773-1023 degree K) treatment on the state and activity of modified aluminoplatinum catalysts has been studied. It is shown that with the prior calcination of the samples in air at temperatures no higher than 973 degree K, additions of cerium, lanthanum, or zirconium oxides stabilize the activity of the catalysts towards complete oxidation. The additives introduced fix the platinum in the oxidized state strengthening the Pt-O bond. This facilitates the preservation of a high dispersity of the platinum at elevated temperatures.
