Abstract: The nature of the surface O species formed during N2O decomposition on Fe-containing pentasil-type zeolites was studied by a temperature-programmed reaction method. Introduction of Fe causes decomposition to begin at a lower temp.erature (150°) and decomposition occurs on the zeolite surface. In the absence of Fe, desorption is complete at 200° without decomposition. At higher Fe contents, only N2 is evolved initially with O2 desorption beginning at 300-330°
