Abstract: The products of the reaction of γ-Al2O3 with SO3 were prepared in a static system over the 25-450°C range. It was shown by a combination of methods (chemical analysis, Al-27 NMR, and x-ray diffraction) that on the absorption of SO3, a part of the oxide is amorphized and x-ray amorphous products are formed, in the composition of which Al(SO4)n fragments enter, with n = 1-6. The specific surface of the products decreases with increasing sulfate content. The specific activity in the isomerization of 1-butene is constant over a wide range of concentrations and equal to the activity of massive, crystalline sulfate roasted at 650°C.
