Abstract: Catalytic effect of composite catalysts containing nitrato-, nitrito-and nitrocomplexes of palladium on the oxidation of olefins has been studied. Primary emphasis has been placed on the analysis of experimental data for the transfer mechanism of an oxygen atom from the NOx ligand to the oxidized substrate and for the nature of intermediates that are responsible for the formation of olefin oxidation products. Some recent data on development of heterogeneous palladium-NOx containing contacts for oxidation of olefins by dioxygen are discussed.
