Abstract: Conclusions: 1. According to the data of calculations, the addition of an N2 molecule to Li and Na atoms occurs without activation energy, and the complexes formed have a triangular equilibrium configuration with symmetry C2v. 2. Calculation of the complexes LiN2 and NaN2 predicts a small negative charge on the metal atom.
