Abstract: Regeneration of α-Fe2O3 catalyst (contg. carbonized-matter deposits) by Ar + O mixt. contg. 0.5-20.0 vol. % O was studied at 420-650°. The regeneration involves a 2-stage catalytic reaction in which Fe transfers O from the gaseous phase to the coke deposits. In the 1st stage the cleavage of O from the catalyst lattice and, in the 2nd stage, the oxidn. of the metallic phase and Fe oxide formation are the rate-detg. steps.
