Реферат: The composition of the catalyst (A) obtained by deposition of (Ph3SiO)​2CrO2 (I) on silica gel was detected by chemical analysis and IR spectroscopy, and the effect was investigated of various methods of activation of A (treatment with Et3Al , heating at 400° in vacuo or in air) on its composition and activity in polymerisation of ethylene. I was adsorbed on silica gel forming H-​bonded complexes with isolated OH groups, rather than undergoing protolysis producing covalently bonded complexes. Heating of A at 400° decreased the oxidation state of Cr and deactivated the catalyst, apparently with products of thermal decomposition of I. Heating of A in air followed by vacuum treatment (400°, 10-​3 torr) removed all Ph group of the complex, destroyed the H-​bonds, fully regenerated the OH groups, and reduced Cr. Et3Al reacted with free and complexed OH groups of A; this resulted in covalent bonding of Cr compds. with the support and reduction of the former to lower oxidation states.
