Реферат: Sulphoxides and sulphones are formed during oxidation of aliphatic sulphides by oxygen using V205. The reaction in the gaseous phase takes place on the catalyst surface and does not extend into main volume [1]. Liquid-phase oxidation of aliphatic sulphides with vanadium pentoxide is unselective, due to the volumetric nature of the reaction [2]. It has been assumed that vanadyl ions, appearing in the solution as a result of the interaction of reaction products with the catalyst play an important part in accelerating the process. However, this conclusion was reached from experiments carried out at increased pressure and a high degree of overall conversion, when the reaction products may have a considerable effect on the process. This prevents any conclusions from being drawn concerning the initial stage of interaction of sulphide with the catalyst, which is essential for establishing the reaction mechanism. A study is made in this paper of oxidation of dibutyl sulphide with a slight overall conversion under conditions allowing for variation in composition of reaction products.
