Abstract:
Study on macrostructured carbon-containing ceramics as carriers for immobilization of non-growing cells of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and growing cells of actinobacterium Rhodococcus ruber has bee carried out. Supports coated with catalytic filamentous carbon were found out to possess the optimal surface morphology as to ensure the tight binding of microbial cells, complete retention of enzymatic (invertase and oxygenase) activities and maximal stabilization of the developed biocatalysts.
