Abstract: In recent years, combustion based methods of catalyst synthesis are widely used: self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) [1], solution combustion synthesis (SCS) [2], synthesis in §ame, i. e., gas-phase combustion [3], surface self-propagating thermosynthesis (SST) [4, 5], etc. One of the workable methods is the heat impulse thermosynthesis (HIT) [6]. The SST and HIT methods are the most promising for the preparation of catalysts on the glass ¦ber (GF). This paper deals with the use of HIT method for the synthesis of silver catalysts in the GF. Traditionally, the methods for the synthesis of the combustion use the fuel additives (FA) ¡ the substances that provide the combustion heat necessary for the recovery of the active component of the precursor. The heat also takes place during combustion of organic ligands or ions that are the part of the precursor. In this paper, the e¨ect of the availability and content of the FA on the formation during thermosynthesis and catalytic properties of samples prepared by HIT from the silver acetate are investigated.
