Exchange reactions of oxygen and oxides V2O5, WO3 and MgO were followed by measuring the time dependence of concentrations of 18O16O, 18O18O and 16O 16O. The rates by which the oxygen molecules exchange their atoms with the oxides by different statistical mechanisms were determined by an optimalization method using computer fitting of the theory to experimental data
