Abstract: A low temperature catalytic pyrolysis of hydrocarbons was shown to be efficient for carbon and hydrogen production. The process is highly efficient since it is friendly to environment and material. Results obtained in the methane decomposition on nickel-containing catalysts show that it is possible to decrease the rate of catalyst deactivation varying hydrogen concentration in the reaction medium.
