Реферат:
Formic acid and levulinic acid are produced in a 1:1 ratio by the acid hydrolysis of cellulose-containing biomass. The formic acid can be used for hydrogen storage or as a hydrogen source for hydrogenation reactions. We have shown [1] that Pd/C catalysts are active, selective and stable for formic acid decomposition, giving hydrogen at low temperatures, 373-473 K. We have also shown that these materials are also very effective for the direct hydrogenation of ethylene to ethane by formic acid [2]. The objectives of the present work were to examine the effect of alkali metal ions on the activity of these catalysts and to understand the reasons for the resulting very significant improvement in activity
