Abstract:
In the present work, the catalysts mLnNi0.9Ru0.1О3/nMg-γ-Al2O3 (Ln = La, Pr, m=10-20%wt, n=6-15%wt) were synthesized and tested in the steam reforming of ethanol (ESR), steam and oxy-steam reforming of glycerol (GSR and GOSR) in a plug-flow reactor at the atmospheric pressure and temperature range of 500-800°C. The study of the catalysts performance in ESR and GSR shows that they provide high values of oxygenates conversion, hydrogen yield and coking stability. The optimal composition of the catalyst with high activity and coking stability has been revealed. It was found that the addition of oxygen in the reaction mixture (GOSR) increases the stability of catalyst to coking, without compromising a high hydrogen yield. The optimal catalyst supported on Ni-Al foam substrate shows a high and stable performance in ESR in a pilot reactor in a realistic reaction mixture during 50 hours
