Abstract: It was shown by the comparison of multicapillary and single-capillary columns for gas-liquid chromatography that an approximately 100-fold larger sample could be injected into multicapillary columns without substantial loss in efficiency, because the injected sample volume, causing no significant loss in efficiency, is two orders of magnitude higher for gas-liquid multicapillary columns than for gas-adsorption multicapillary columns.
