Abstract: IR spectroscopy and gas chromatography are used to study the acid–base and adsorption properties of the surface of Silochrome S-80 modified with 8-oxyquinolinates of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II). The results from studying their acid–base properties via IR spectroscopy are in good agreement with changes in the specific retention volumes of analytes, according to which the contribution of modifiers to the adsorption of hydrocarbons and oxygen-containing compounds falls in the series of S-80 + Ni(Oxh)2 ≥ S‑80 + Co(Oxh)2 > S-80 + Cu(Oxh)2. The possibility of the practical use of modified materials for gas-chromatographic separation of ketone mixtures is studied.
