Abstract: An unsteady-state method for selective catalytic removal of NOx from waste gases consists of the interaction of NOx with NH3 over a catalytic bed with periodic reversals of the gas flow without heating. The selective catalytic process takes into account the occurrence of 2 competing reactions: NO reduction by NH3 to N and water and NH3 oxidation by O in air with the possible formation of NH4 salts at low temperatures.
