Реферат: Metal foam reinforced FeAlOy/FeAlx cermet-matrix composites for catalytic applications were synthesized by a low-temperature hydrothermal treatment of preforms consisting of an open-cell metal foam skeleton and a mechanically alloyed Fe–Al powder filling the metal foam cells. The composites had a compressive strength of about 100 MPa and a well-developed bi-porous structure. The metal foam skeleton in the composites ensured the increased thermal conductivity that was up to three times higher compared to non-reinforced cermet. In addition, the metal foam skeleton prevented catastrophic destruction at critical mechanical stresses. Comparative studies of the non-reinforced and copper foam reinforced cermet catalysts in the water-gas shift reaction revealed higher activity of the latter, which could be attributed to higher thermal conductivity and more favorable porous structure. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.
