Abstract: Three new coordination compounds are obtained in the reaction of aqueous solutions of lithium and potassium hydroxides or calcium chloride with β-cyclodextrine. Their compositions and structures are determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The lithium and potassium complexes represent metal-organic coordination polymers with chain (Li) and layered (K) structures. The crystal structure of the calcium compound is a packing of discrete complexes.
