Abstract:
Ba and Mg pyrophosphate and Ca phosphate having Ca/P >1.2 catalyzed the dehydration of isopropanol; Ca, Sr, and Ba pyrophosphate and trisubstituted Mg, Sr, and Ba phosphate did not. The catalytic activity was related to the presence of the HPO42- ion and the electronegativity of the cation.
